Godaddy changing nameservers how long

Why does godaddy takes so long for dns changes? You cant be serious about name. It takes upto 48 hours for all root server's to be updated with the info for your new domain. You're probably getting a faster response from name. Most hosts have it set to a higher value, such as 1hour.

From what I've seen. GoDaddy only supports 30 minutes and 1 hour TTLs. This means you can't reduce the TTL beforehand for a scheduled change.
